Heading to St François Longchamps?  There is a great pizza restaurant situated at the base of the Lauzière.  It is a great pit stop for a spot of lunch and a hot chocolate to warm up or can be a hiding place for those of the group not adventurous enough to attempt the challenging slopes of the Lauzière.

The Piano bar offers evening meals and return by torch light.  This is an amazing experience but must be at least an intermediate skier or snowboarder – you’ll be heading back in the dark holding a flame.

As a family we have skied in Valmorel annually for many years.  In fact three generations have honed their skills on the variety of slopes.  The six grandchildren can now show Grandad the way to all parts of the resort.

We have found that chalet accommodation is ideal for the extended family in that we are able to cook favourite meals and are also able to eat out in the many restaurants – the family tradition being that the first meal of the holiday is at the crepe restaurant in the middle of the friendly resort.  As a result of this type of holiday the children have been able to establish lasting bonds with their cousins.

Treat yourself to an evening a la Savoyard.  Ski Roc is a great place to try out some of the more traditional dishes such as cheese fondu, hot stone and tartiflette.  Make sure you book a table early as they are always busy!
