Ski TerrainFrom an altitude of 1300m to 2550m, The Grand Domaine, between the Tarentaise and Maurienne mountain ranges provides 3600 hectares of diverse skiing from gentle mountain pasture slopes, forest trails, and steep slopes on the summits around Valmorel, Doucy Combelouvière, Celliers and Saint François Longchamp. The 150 km of pistes are made up of 46 ski lifts, 315 snow cannons and a snow zone equipped with a boarder cross, slope styles and free ride zone for those out looking for some fun and for those “speed merchants” who want a challenge. Valmorel Snow SportsValmorel has well located snow sport learning areas ideal for beginners and intermediate, with dedicated ski school tuition available (pre-booked or payable in the resort). This is a real paradise for ski trekking and off-piste fans, with a breathtaking variety of countryside ranging from pine woods and tree lined slopes to high mountain ranges with their off piste and black ski runs, where good technical skiing is required. The Celliers valley, linked to the ski area by a gondola, offers numerous trekking departure points (skis, snow shoes) and access to the famous Lauzière mountain range and the unspoilt and natural alpine valley for Celliers and Maurienne valleys. For those who enjoy cross country skiing (Nordic style) there is 20 km of marked-out routes, which leave from Les Avanchers and head towards the direction of Empyrée and Pierre Laron.
